Property Description: colorless oily liquid. Melting point: 3 ℃, boiling point: 258-259 ℃, 130.5 ℃ (0.39kpa), relative density: 1.1596 (20 / 4 ℃), refractive index: 1.4301, flash point: 148.8 ℃. Can be mixed with ethanol; Ether; Chloroform is miscible with benzene, slightly soluble in water and carbon disulfide, with a solubility of 5.9g/100ml in water at 25 ℃, and tastes bitter.
Production method: it is obtained by esterification of glycerol and acetic acid. After preheating glycerol to 50-60 ℃, add acetic acid; Benzene and sulfuric acid. Heat, stir, reflux and dehydrate, recover benzene after dehydration, add acetic anhydride and heat for 4H. After cooling, neutralize pH to 7 with 5% sodium carbonate, remove the water layer, and dry the crude oil with calcium chloride. Distillation under reduced pressure and collect 128-131 ℃ (0.93kpa) fraction, which is glycerol triacetate.
